My computer with Windows 7 (legacy BIOS) crashed. Our IT guys failed to retrieve the data.
They replaced the hard drive, installed Windows 10 (UEFI) and reconfigured the computer.
I asked to them to provide me the recovery information file. I received the file but they said it might not work with old hard drive as computer is reconfigured.
If I use the recovery file with EZPE32 tool, I’m able to authenticate with file but get message ‘failed to retrieve key check from disk the primary disk’.
1. What could be the probable reasons for this error?
2. Is there a way to get recovery file with key that matches to previous hard drive?
