Move encrypted drive to another device

Jump to solution

Hi, I have a laptop which has failed (won't power up) and I was wondering if it is possible to move the hard drive to another laptop which is the same make and model?

The hard drive has been encrypted with EEPC 7.0.2 which is running on Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks

Yes, you can swap the drive to another system. Ensure that the UEFI Boot Mode is set to the same value (UEFI Enabled / Legacy BIOS) and the other BIOS settings also match.

Thanks, was worried to try in case it upset the data on the drive as I couldn't find any mention of this in the faq / product guide.
