Migrate to v6: How to map v5 users/user groups/computers to ePO groups?

Something occurred to me when running migrating test users and computers to ePO.

The migration process allows you to map v5 computers, users and user groups to LDAP security groups, users and computers. However, I think it would be useful to map v5 user groups that converts to LDAP security groups  and computers to ePO groups.

I find myself having to find the computer move it to the ePO group and then assign the LDAP security group to it. I have over 400 computers and it is going to take a long time.

Just wonder how everyone else is doing it?

Hello Sluong,

During the import process in ePO you can select to map a V5 User Group to an LDAP Group.

This is actioned by going to Menu -> Encryption Users -> Tasks -> Import v5 user assignments -> When you reach step 4 select the v5 user group -> Action -> Assign an LDAP group.

HTH,

Fausto

@foliveir

I think you misunderstood. I have been doing that and it works fine.

But how do you map the LDAP user/ security group or computer to an ePO OU (let's go with AD talk). I don't have a flat ePO OU Structure.
