Migrate ePO 4.5 EEPC 1.0.2 to ePO 4.6 EEPC 7.0.1

Hello!

I have an ePO server 4.5 and notebooks encrypted using EEPC 1.0.2.

I want to move the notebooks to a new ePO Server 4.6.6 with EEPC 7.0.1.

Should I upgrade the EEPC on the old server first and then migrate?

Or should I install EEPC 1.0.2 on the new ePO server and then upgrade to 7.0.1 after the migration?

Thanks in advance,

Thiago Bujnowski

Re: Migrate ePO 4.5 EEPC 1.0.2 to ePO 4.6 EEPC 7.0.1

first thing to consider is that thought you can move machines to a new EPO server (as long as they are on version 6.2+), you can't move users - so you will loose all your user assignments and passwords.

Can you confirm the version of EEPC - 1.02 sounds like the EEAdmin extension, it should be v6 or 7...

Sorry! You're right!

1.0.2 is the Endpoint Encryption Agent for Windows.

My old Endpoint Encryption PC is 6.0.2

Should I upgrade to 6.2+ first on the old server?

Just install a the new extension should do it?

You need to upgrade all your clients before moving them - EEPC6.0 wont recreate keys in a new EPO server, so you will loose all your recovery infromation.
