this error has been noticed on systems with endpoint encryption installed.
the consequences of this is that the endpoint encryption system status monitor is not displayed.
the agent fails to download/enforce policy for EEagent
Endpoint Encryption cannot be unistalled via ePO or manually...
Please any advice on this
attached is a screenshot of this error
However, i have upgraded this system from XP sp2 to sp3 and the error still pops-up.
Also, i am having funny errors with EEPC.
I deployed the eepc via ePO, the mcafee agent (via agent logs) shows successful deployment of the EEADMIN only and there is no occurence of it installing the EEPC software; also it keeps re-installing the EEADMIN despite the fact that it reports : Update succeeded to version 1.0.1
Physical visit to the machine reavealed that the EEPC and EEADMIN was installed. Clicking on the modules tab revealed this. Also the Install dir for both products revealed EEPC AND EEADMIN folders.
the system state is inactive
However on the ePO, the systems details does not reflect any of the eepc products as installed
attached is a copy of the Mfepehost log
the current ePO tasks assigned to the system are
1. Uninstall EEPC and EEADMIN
2. Install VirusScan
3. Install Siteadvisor
4. Install HIPS ( Current HIPS is HIPS 7.0 patch 7)
5. Install DLP
Other tasks include the On demand scan for VirusScan, Update task for the products and wake up task
We've been seeing the same error on several brand new systems and have an incident open with support regarding the problem. XP SP3 is installed, and its only affecting a subset of the new systems. Hate to say it, but support is indicating a probable fix in the next patch, but we haven't been given a date on it yet.
In our environment, its been a problem for several weeks and we have not been able to come to a resolution. We're only seeing it on a series of new PC's and it sounds linked to the desktop hardware to a certain extent. You don't happen to have HP/Compaq Deskpro 6000s do you?
We have installed EEPC 6.0.1 on laptops HP Compaq, Dell Latitude, IBM Thinkpad T60/T61, Sony Vaio TZ21 & more.
Also in desktop PCs.
On all computers the same error.
We tested with Windows XP SP2 & SP3.
The error occurs when you disable the network devices.
The deactivation of network devices is very common for energy saving of many laptops. (When not in use network devices).
We opened a case with McAfee (2 months ago), still we have no solution.
