Mcafee DE ?

Still trying to figure out just what this is. Is it Mcafee Managed Bitlocker ? Similar to MNE and Filevault ?

Thanks,

Justin

Re: Mcafee DE ?

MDE is the new name for EEPC (Endpoint Encryption for PCs). Strangely we went back to the SafeBoot naming convention (SafeBoot Drive Encryption, or SBDE) from 2005.

The managed bitlocker/filevault is McAfee Native Encryption (MNE) 2.0

Re: Mcafee DE ?

Do I have to buy MDE ? I already own EEPC.

I wasnt aware that MNE did Bitlocker. I thought only Filevault.

Re: Mcafee DE ?

MNE2 does bitlocker. MNE1.0 only Filevault.

If you are paying for support and maintanence, no. MDE is v7.1 of EEPC 7.0 etc. Just a name change.

Hello Justin

A document that may be of use is the very comprehensive DE FAQ that the engineering team created.  The article includes bookmarks to assist in the navigation of the document.
