MDE is the new name for EEPC (Endpoint Encryption for PCs). Strangely we went back to the SafeBoot naming convention (SafeBoot Drive Encryption, or SBDE) from 2005.
The managed bitlocker/filevault is McAfee Native Encryption (MNE) 2.0

I wasnt aware that MNE did Bitlocker. I thought only Filevault.
MNE2 does bitlocker. MNE1.0 only Filevault.
If you are paying for support and maintanence, no. MDE is v7.1 of EEPC 7.0 etc. Just a name change.
