I am very pleased to announce that McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PC (EEPC) 6.1 Patch 3 has entered into Phase 2 (a.k.a. “Block 2”) of the FIPS 140-2 validation process. This indicates that McAfee Endpoint Encryption Disk Driver Crypto Module 1.0 and McAfee Endpoint Encryption Client Crypto Module 1.0 (the crypto modules under test for EEPC 6.1 Patch 3) were fully tested by our FIPS lab and now awaits review and approval by the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). The next three phases (Block 3-5) are more clerical in nature and primarily involve coordination between our FIPS lab and CMVP. My next status to you will be when we complete the remainder of the validation process, which at this time I expect to be late-Q1 2012 or sooner (depending on CMVP backlog).
