MEE and FIPS

Jump to solution

We are looking into purchasing MEE in order to meet FIPS compliance. I assume it isn't just compliant out of the box.

Are there any guides or does anyone know how MEE should be configured to be FIPS compliant?

Thanks!

  1. Though not required in the documentation, I'd enable FIPS mode in the group policy of the Windows server hosting ePO.
  2. ePO needs to be installed in FIPS mode. Well, it doesn't *have* to be, but it's highly recommended. I don't think they completely validate FIPS compliance without doing this.
  3. All packages need to be checked in after ePO is in FIPS mode to ensure they're checked in via FIPS.
  4. EEAgent and EEPC need to be deployed with a command line option of FIPSMODE=1.

I just had to go through all of this at my company.
