Lenovo and EEPC

Jump to solution

Some strange thing what I've met:

1. On Intel video card I've got a blank display instead of a preboot screen.

Ok, I've set AMD as default, but it was difficult to find the reason.

2. Long time encyption.

Encryption was started a few days ago. But it goes to 10% and get back to 0% again and again. Disk status is "encrypting" and it gonna stay at this state forever.

Please help me get a solve for second issue.

let's start with what OS you are using, and what version of EEPC.

The progress bar will start from 0 each time the service starts - it's the progress of the job, not how much of the disk is encrypted.

Hi SafeBoot!

7sp1 and 6.2.1

I've got answer from McAfee Support. This is "normal" behaviour of EEPC client.

BTW encryption process took about 5 days on a modern laptop(500 gb, i3, 4 gb RAM). I plan to test EEPC on several different laptops models that are used in the company, maybe other machines will be faster.

5 days on a Lenovo? wow that's one slow machine. 500GB usually takes a few hours. I'm glad it's working for you though.

I don't know, what exact time took encryption process because of energy-saving, system load etc. I will test it on clean OS and machine that does not fall asleep or goes hibernate.

Ah, so the machine may have kept falling asleep?  In that case, please post the results of your test on a machine which does not sleep or hibernate.

Thanks :-)
