Hello to all.-
I recovered a hard drive with physical problems, around 13k sectors damaged and not recovered. Those sectors were between sector 1,000 and 10,000,000. the rest of the sector were recovered without problems. the drive was protected with EndPoint 5.2
So when I run Wintech the system cant detect the drive is protected. An error apears with: "Protection not installed".
Is there any way to decrypt the data even those thousnd of missed sectors?
It would be hard now, as you don't know what's decrypted and what us not. The correct procedure with a failing drive is to send it to a recovery company for duplication first.
Now, no - if you can't read the sectors there no way to decrypt them. You'll be best off using a file recovery tool to try to rescue what's left.
