I noticed that McAfee updated their FAQ for v6 on October 29, 2009:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB66700&actp=search&searchid=1257327508226
That is correct. We'll attempt to keep the FAQ up to date as McAfee Staff or Customers ask questions. Always refer to the KB article listed above for the latest FAQ.
Anthony - can we have the document posted here in the documents section of this community for reference, or at least add a reference to it?
I have noticed that on the published KB66700 date of October 29, "Endpoint Encryption version 6 is currently in the Alpha testing phase". How is possible that product will reach "The General Availability (GA) date is November 16, 2009." That's only 3 weeks from Alpha to GA!
That is a slight mistake on the KB Article. The Alpha was available internally inside McAfee in August. The version 6.0 product had extensive Beta testing by over 160 different organizations around the world, representing all major geographies. The beta started in September and ended at the end of October in order to make the final preparations for GA.
Anthony
That's what I thought. Please have KB article corrected.
KB has already been updated. Takes a little while to go through the editing/approval/replicating process.
Again, on the same KB document it says:
What is the GA date for Endpoint Encryption for PC (EEPC) version 6.0?
The General Availability (GA) date is November 16, 2009.
Was version 6.0 GA posted for download and documents made available? Today is November 19, 2009.
