yup, and we have one of those and have tested it. If your MacBook Pro behaved like a MacBook, then it would also work as well. But, it does not. Either that, or we did test it and came to the conclusion that it was never going to work - I don't have access to the negative cases, only the positives.
Seriously - has this device had any firmware updates even? That thread I found indicated there were all kinds of magic needed to make it work with 64bit EFI and OS - maybe the device is just plain borked as far as 64bit EFI is concerned?
To follow up on this Minh from support actually mailed me a USB stick that worked. He then followed up with a phone call and stepped me through creating one on my own. This key works. He had me do a couple things different then the documentation states:
When we formatted the key we selected to format it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) . This is not in the documentation.
Also the command he had me run after copying the EpeTechEfi.efi was different.
