Is there Nvidia or ATI video graphics installed? There was a talk about EE v.6 corrupting driver dependent memory area.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, this IBM T42 is running an ATI Radeon Mobile video card. Although the detailsof the issue described in the 2 KBs you supplied aren't quite the same. I don't get a blue screen, simply a blank blank screen!

I've managed to go into Windows Safe Mode, and uninstall the ATI driver, then rebooted, now I get the Windows login prompt, and I can login, trouble is, Windows then detects the new hardware, and automatically installs the ATI drivers again, as soon as it does that, the screen goes blank again. I'll have to go back into Safe Mode and completely delete all ATI driver files from Windows\System32 & \DriverCache.

Do you know if this only affects IBM/Lenevo laptops, or is it all laptops with ATI/Nvidia graphics cards? Also, do you know when EEPC Patch 1 is due for release?

Many thanks again

Ben

Patch 1 is supposedly in QA and should be released at the end of Q1 2010. That is what I heard.
