Yesterday I did receive an information from support that AMT 9 is not supported!
They asked me to open a product enhancement request.
But I think this is not a problem from us (customer).
This problem must be solved by McAfee, an Intel Company. (AMT --> Intel)
So if this PER is not submitted, is McAfee saying they are no longer developing updates for this feature? This was the one thing that kept us from dumping this due to high volume of tickets to our help desk just for EEPC alone. Unlock PBA was a plausible solution to help reduce this impact. But now all the new equipment we are purchasing is AMT 9.x
Should I be shopping for a new product for endpoint security? Credant is looking better everyday.
I would understand if this was for a third party product integration, but Intel is down the hall.
My rep will be hearing about this.
PERs add weight to requests, and can accelerate them beyond normal development processes. Just because there's no PER does not mean a feature won't be developed, but significant feedback from customers can change our timelines.
Can you add some context around what all these helpdesk tickets are? Forgotten passwords?
Just a quick update AMT 9 and 9.5 are not as yet committed to MDE7.1.1 but there is a strong desire to do so, this is with R&D at present to see if we are able to achieve this. AMT 10 is currently out of scope for this release.
We have not yet pinned down the exact release date as yet for 7.1.1 as we are still finalizing the overall content commit, but I can give an update when I have one.
