EEPC 6.1.3 to Drive Encryption 7.1 and a new ePO server !

Hi All,

We have just put in a new ePO 5.1 server and looking to decom our ePO 4.5 Patch 4 server.

We have 2000 laptops on EEPC 6.1.3 which need to be migrated to the new ePO 5.1 server and upgraded to Drive Encryption 7.1.

Is there a best way to do this ? Is it going to be possible to migrate the machines between ePO servers AND upgrade the software?

I have read multiple scenarios but none involved a new ePO server and a different version of ePO !

Thanks
Superhoop

Re: EEPC 6.1.3 to Drive Encryption 7.1 and a new ePO server !

Is your 4.5 server x86?

How do you assign your encrypted users? manually or add local domain users?

Do you have any clients on the new server at all just now- if not read the discussion and procedures posted by RGC  here: https://community.mcafee.com/message/302134.

(may involve rebuilding your 5.1 server)

I have a similar scenario- try and use that procedure, or this https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB71078 first. As tranfer of assigned users is not supported. (Now i have two servers with encrypted machines on them and its turning into a nightmare!)

Cheers

Jane
