I have several computers running EEPC 5.2.3 on my network , with disk encryption enabled. All this computers are EPO managed (McAfee Agent 184.108.40.2060)
Those computers with EEPC 5.2.3 are managed from EEPC Server , where are configured all the needed policies and the assignement of each user to each computer.
Now I want to setup EEPP 6.1 on my EPO server ( EPO 4.5.4 HF1).
I have a doubt , when I load on my EPO server the EEPC and EEADmin extensions , is possible that those computers with EEPC 5.2.3 could be "affected" by the configuration established on the EPO Server? Is possible that those computers could "loose" their configuration ?
Or can I load all the needed extensions and software packages on the EPO Server without any problem with older versions?
we are in a same position.
My recommendation is to test thoroughly first in a test environment and then run a side-by-side pilot, i.e., gradually deploy EEPC6.1.
For some reason policy enforcement is taking long on my machines.
I would recommend waiting for EEPC 6.1.1. This version will preserve your pre-boot user passwords and SSO details as part of the upgrade. Currently this is in the "release to support" stage, which means it only goes to select customers but it should be generally released in a week or two. Read the migration guide that comes with that release for more details on the exact upgrade procedure.
