So this has happened a couple times. We are testing deploying EEmac to our Mac users here. The first issue we have is since we use CentrifyDC to manage our Macs, we add the users manually to each Mac.
Second issue is that I had a test user come in this morning and was unable to get past the login screen and it gave him an unknown username error. I logged into ePO, and it showed that he was not added to the local machine when it had been working for several days. I had to do a machine recovery and readd him to get it going again.
Anyone else run into this or can someone from McAfee chime in? We cannot deploy until we figure this out.
Is it possible that the machine was deleted from ePO, and then re-added? For example if you have a scheduled task running to remove "stale" machines, or the sort?
When machines are deleted from ePO, the user assignments get deleted with it.
It's possible. What I did notice is that periodically our Mac machines will get moved around. As a matter of fact as I type it is doing it right now. In ePO, our entire My Organization\Mac machines just diappeared. Weird thing is, it comes back in like 5 mins.
I haven't heard of such behaviour before, but that will definitely be affecting EEMac. I would start with resolving this issue first (maybe with help from the ePO forums?), and report back if that doesn't fix the issue.
Hope that helps,
We have one or two, using the native Mac OS VPN client. I may have to open a ticket with McAfee, as I cannot see a whole System Tree group disappearing and then coming back as being part of a normal operations.
1. EEMac 6.2 only supports ALDU (local domain user) via Apple directory utility only. Thrid party AD tools such as CentrifyDC , VASTool, AdmitMac are not supported.
2. Other issue where you were referring to user being deleted, might be due to :
a) system might be deleted under ePO and re-added later.
b) Since you mac is configured to AD via CentrifyDC tool, where as EEMac only supports directory utility application.
