Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

Thats what I am saying.  MA 4.5 came out after EPO 4.5, so why can't the MA 4.0 inside the EPO 4.5 download be replaced with the most current agent and then just be repackaged and placed back out on the download page?

Either way I am up and running now so my issue has been resolved, well sort of.  After I got EEPC on the computer, none of my assigned users will work for pre-boot.  Called support on that and it has been escalated to Tier 2.

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

most likely it's populating them as fullname, rather than samAccountName.

the agent log will tell you that if you turn it on.

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

My active directoy sync is set to SamAccountName and I can only get one user assigned to the computer for preboot. If I assign a second user, that user gets "Unknown User".

If I assign just a AD group to the computer itself or Group User list, I cannot login with ANY of the user accounts within that group.  I get unknown user as well.  I can only assign one specific user account and thats it.

I have tried to login with both the username and full name of the second user and both don't work.  With the first user, I can login with the samaccountname (i.e. jtestuser).  Tech support classified this as a definite bug that needs to be fixed because no matter what we tried it wouldn't work.

So there are two issues here,

1. Pre-boot won't recognize multiple users

2. Pre-boot won't recognize users within AD Groups that are added to the Group Users or specific user list of a computer.

Again, all my settings check out according to multiple tech support reps. They reviewed my entire setup via remote session and confirmed that it is setup as it should be.

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

that may be the case, but other people have multiple users working fine 😉

Seems to be a problem with the ePO/AD user collection - you might want to revisit that, or wait for Patch1

Other people are having the same issue too..

The techs reviewed my AD synch task and it was fine according to them.  Is this resolved in Patch 1?

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

issues with AD sync are resolved in Patch1, whether it involves your problem is another matter.

did you look at your EEPC log to see what users it downloaded? "Unknown User" does not mean they are not there, it means you are not typing a valid user name.

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

where is the EEPC log located at?

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

you have to turn it on, you need to add a dword of 0-4 to hklm\software\mcafee endpoint encryption\mfeepehost\configuration\logginglevel

it will create mfeepe.txt/log in the install directory.

There is no Configuration under mfeepehost only plugin.

Re: Deploy to computer via EPO 4.5

that's why you have no log file 😉
