Can you remove a product from the default Non-compatible product list? I have an issue where PGP Desktop is installed on a machine, but the machine itself is not encrypted. The user just uses the software to encrypt a single file they download from a server so they can send it externally.
I'd still like them to be able to use the PGP software for this purpose, but I'd also like for EEPC to go active and start encrypting.
I have the same issue as jsiergiej. We have a user who uses PGP Desktop strictly for encrypting individual files which are then sent to a vendor. Is there a way to remove PGP desktop from the exclusion list?
I ended up opening a support ticket on this and got a definitive answer. There is no way to remove a product from the non-compatible product list nor is there any way to override the block. Checking the logs is the only way I know of to see which product is causing the encryption to bomb out.
The simplest way to remove product from non-compatibile list is to remove it from EPEProductDetection table.
However playing with ePO database is not supported at all, thus you got answer that this is not possible. It works for ePO server however I haven't tested this from client side, yet.
I wasn't able to find any information about modifying the EPEProductDetection table...
Can you provide some more details. We are pressured by a client to encrypt the machines but however this is a mixed environment and some of the machines are showing in-active...
As mentioned previously it is not support to play with the ePO database and removing the entry from the table mentioned will not solve the problem for you..
Sorry, you will need to raise this with McAfee support..
Are you using EEPC 6.0.2 or EEPC 6.1 ?Message was edited by: whgibbo on 20/04/11 09:44:26 CDT
