I am trying to create an EETech recovery disk using BartPE following the instructions here: https://kc.mcafee.com/resources/sites/MCAFEE/content/live/PRODUCT_DOCUMENTATION/24000/PD24204/en_US/...
I have also downloaded the latest version of the EETech.zip with my grant number, and the latest PEBuilder.
When attempting to create the disc, PE builder throws an error that is is missing some files - MfeEEAlg.sys and four *Tahoma*.pbf files. I've searched other discussions on this site and did find on where user 'SafeBoot' says MfeEEAlg.sys used to be named MfeEpePc.sys - which I DO have on a PC with DE activated, located at c:\windows\system32\drivers. I copied that file to the PE builder location, named it MfeEEAlg.sys, created the boot disc, but alas it is missing the necessary drivers. It is depending on this mysterious MfeEEAlg.sys file which I cannot find in any of the EETech files, or on EEPC/DE clients.
We are currently using DE 7.1. Where can I find MfeEEAlg.sys?
Unfortuantely you can't use the EEPC7.0 instructions and apply them to DE7.1 - They are subtly different.
Please use the instructions which came with your version of the product, or use Jay's excelent WinPE toolkit mentioned in many other posts in this group.
Thank you - I actually found that WinPE tool shortly after posting. It is excellent!
EETech wasn't able to "see" the drive info because one of the technicians restored the original MBR.. But I was able to do a Force Crypt to encypt the drive sectors (followed instructions from another discussion) and successfully recovered the data.
