Changing Password Content Rules will it affect already encrypted systems?

We have recently adjusted the password policy for our organization. However, the current password content rules for McAfee Drive Encryption don't match the new password policy requirements. We currently have about 40 systems already encrypted.

If we change these rules under the ePO Drive Encryption policy will it affect the already encrypted systems? Has anyone else changed their password policy for DE after the fact?

Currently, the ePO DE password policy is enforcing the defaults which are a minimum password of 3 characters etc. We also don't stop the user from reusing the password or force it to be changed.

The new organization policy requires a minimum policy of 8 characters, change password every 180 days and only allow 5 previous passwords.

Re: Changing Password Content Rules will it affect already encrypted systems?

Hello,

Most of the MDE policy settings are embedded in the PBFS so usually if you change something there, you will need to decrypt/encrypt the machines or rebuild the PBFS (Emergency Boot) so they can take effect.
