I recently installed Drive encryption 7.1.1 in a Lenovo Thinkpad L440 module laptop,
After installation i found that the touchpad was not working, so i tried enabling "Always enable pre-boot USB support" option in drive encryption policy.
But i again found the touchpad was still not working,
I doubt on Legacy boot/ UEFI boot mode option in the BIOS.
Can any one please help me to fix this issue.
if you are in uefi mode, it's because lenovo did not provide a driver, if you are in bios mode, it's because the bios does not provide ps2 mouse emulation.
If I recall correctly, the "Always enable pre-boot USB support" is relevant only for Legacy BIOS systems. As SafeBoot says, in UEFI boot, it's up to the OEM to implement the correct interfaces, but not all OEMs do that.
We've had several cases where we escalated this to the OEM and it was fixed in future BIOS releases. Have you confirmed your system has the latest BIOS available from Lenovo ?
Ya, it has the latest BIOS.
The laptop is in UEFI mode, can I change it to Legacy mode and try.
I am scacred that when I change the UEFI to Legacy mode the windows may not boot, can I change between UEFI mode and legacy mode with any problem?
