Announcing Endpoint Encryption forPC version 6.1 Patch 2

Announcing the availability of

McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PCs v 6.1 Patch 2

Team,

Available now, McAfee announces the release of McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PCs (EEPC) version 6.1 Patch 2. EEPC 6.1 Patch 2 provides a broad set of new features focused on improvements in management, security and performance.

Key features include:

Management

  • Easier patch Tuesdays by temporarily suspending preboot authentication until the various patches have been deployed
  • Better understanding of the organization’s security posture via improved information from logs
  • Customize a range of tasks like user and password management using EEPC scripting via ePO
  • Get new users started quicker by skipping the step of starting with an initial default password
  • Simplify the OS refresh process by eliminating the need to decrypt and re-encrypt the PC

Security

  • For increased security, can optionally set policy based lockout of PCs to network resources if there’s been no recent check-in to the network/ePO
  • Supports forensics tools provided by EnCase. The EnCase solution must be purchased separately and at additional cost.
  • Can destroy all end-of-life recovery data on the management console for maximum, end-of-life, irreversible destruction of data

Performance and Certification

  • Improved resume from hibernate performance
  • Submitted for both FIPS and CC certification

EEPC 6.1 Patch 2 will be available on the Download Site via your Grant number.
