We are coming up on our renewal and i'm afraid it won't get completed in time. Just to be prepared in case of any gap, what functionality would I lose in ePO if the license expired? Would the Drive Encryption recovery xml files still be available?

When a license (grant number) will expire, you will not be able to download DAT updates and systems will not receive newer signatures.
All other functionality will work without any problems (logging to ePO, managing DE and other products).

I don't think this is true.

You will be able to manage your system through your ePO successfully.

Also, If you face any issue with the DAT/Amcore you can download it from the Security Site and check-in your ePO and send the task.
