Hello, we tried to decrypt the disk which crashed but we got this error message: "ERROR EE00000A Unknown or unsupported function". We tested two different usb flash drives, got the xml new and one drive worked before with another pc. Any ideas what we can do next?
In my past experience we did see one issue like this where we advised the customer to perform sector to sector backup of the original HDD which they are trying to decrypt with a similar HDD of same size and rpm. If the original Hard drive is HDD then you need to use HDD to do sector to sector cloning.
Post sector to sector cloning you can use the cloned disk and connect this disk as the primary disk in this machine and then boo the machine using the DeTech tool and try to perform the Remove DE operation or you can contact McAfee Support to help you with the Manual decryption process.
Or before trying all these decryption methods, if you are focused in only recovering the data from the drive you can try to build a McAfee Drive Recovery bootable media with WinPe as per the below videos,
Download link for the tool is available in the video description as well if the below doesnt work for you.
