Password change behaviour when off the network

Using McAfee DE 7.2 with ePO 5.9.1, we currently have alot of users working from home using our laptops because of the current Covid pandemic

Some of our users have Full VPN connection and are able to sync with the ePO server without problem, however the bulk of our users have a limited VPN which only gives them access to VMware and a Terminal server, ie their laptops don't connect to our network at all.

We do not utilise SSO and Preboot passwords aren't linked to Windows passwords.

Can anyone tell me how a preboot password reset will behave on these laptops? I always thought that a sync would need to occur after a new password has been set, is that correct? 

If one of these laptops reaches the password expiry date and the user sets a new password, will they be able to authenticate after rebooting the laptop considering no sync with the ePO server has taken place?

I can give a detailed explanation 🙂 however before that can you send a screenshot of the MDE Product Settings Policy -> Logon Tab from top to bottom.
