Dear All,
After installing DE7.2.9 on Windows10 systems (1803/1903) systems do not boot at all. So no DE pre-boot logon is shown and the display stays black.
At this moment the problem exist on all our W10 systems that have BIOS in BIOS-mode.
Systems with BIOS in UEFI-mode don't have the problem.
Problem exists on:
- fresh Windows installation (default via SCCM) Windows 10_1803
- BIOS: CSM enabled, secure_boot off=> primary disk will be MBR.
- DE 7.2.9 Active and encryption started.
DETech Tooling => Recovery is not possible "The system does not find an encrypted disk. “failed to retrieve key check from disk the primary disk. Press OK to continue authentication or CANCEL to abort.”
So all systems running into this problem have to be completely re-installed!!!
Do all systems with MBR configured boot-disks have this problem?
McAfee... please test your SW...
We now have to roll-back DE7.2.9 AND ENS10.6.1 (becaus of KB91830).... 😞

Hi to all,
I have opened a SR for this.
McAfee has provide me 2 sets of customized DETech bootfiles with which I have executed some test procedures. Base on the output they have already provided a fixed DE7.2.9 binary-file (POC).
Replacing the original binary with the fixed one before activating Encryption, solved the problem. So the POC works. Now the have reported to inform me when a real fix/update/upgrade is available.
Regards,
@aerialjibe Firstly, apologize for the inconvenience caused with the issue.
Could you share the exact make and model of the system?
Hi JaganA,
We have this problem at two system type's at this moment:
Fujitsu E756
Fujitsu E558

@aerialjibeThanks for your response.
These models should work fine with Legacy BIOS considering the system is running with latest BIOS update and Drive Encryption hardware compatibility list (should be >89). Also, we have not received similar complaint from any other customers.
If problem persists, contact technical support to troubleshoot the issue.
Dear All,
Also upgrading a working system from DE 7.2.8 to DE 7.2.9 breaks the system.
In our organization we wanted to upgrade W10 systems to ENS10.6.1/DE7.2.9. A query shows that we have ~900 systems in BIOS-mode... this could have been a disaster for us.
Regards,
AeriialJibe,
We allready use the HCL v92-file. This because some other systems (Fujitsi H780) cannot boot (authenicate) with DE version lower then DE7.2.9 and HCL < v92 😞
I will do a test with the latest BIOS update (v1.25 (22-05-2019)).
I will report the outcome.
Hi All,
We have updated the system to the last BIOS may_2019 (v1.35).
This does not solve our problems. Still, after upgrading to DE7.2.9, the systems are death.
No Pre-boot authentication... only black screen.
We had problems with our H780 systems in October 2018... A bugfix (new version of DE) was required including an update of the Drive Encryption HCL (v92). We have waited more then 6 Months!... Now we have to wait... Please fix this problem asap.
Regards,
AerialJibe.
@aerialjibeappreciate your constant update.
I believe, hardware compatibility has to be examined, please open a service request with technical support to take it further.
