When trying to encrypt out Lenovo L15 laptops, we keep getting in the error log
ERROR EpoPlugin policyHandler: activation aborted due to failed health checks.
When I run a SMART drive info check, it does not find anything wrong with it. Other Lenovo models are encrypting just fine. I tried enabling the EEGO debug but it is not making a log file.
Any tips in finding out what is actually failing in the health check??
You can first look in the registry at HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\McAfee Endpoint Encryption\EEGo and check the string value called "Health" to see what state it shows there. It is possible that it is actually failing or it could just be in progress and the MDE client does not proceed because it isn't seeing a "passed" status.
If it is failing, you can look in ePO by going to the system tree and locating the system in question. Click on it to get into that systems information\properties. On the "products" tab, click on "Drive Encryption Go" and scroll down. It should list results for the various tests and their status.
Depending upon what is actually failing, we may have to circle back to getting DEGO logging working so if that doesn't lead you anywhere. For that, are you using https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB73165 to enable DEGO logging?
tried the registry setting, the command line, and modifying the install task to include the command line, none of those generated the output log.
We discovered that the GPIO host controller - INT34BB getting updated "seems" to have fixed the issue, but we don't have 100% success rate yet. We have not seen this issue with any other Lenovo model... so far.
