How can I start encryption remotely?

I have a few machines that are remote and need encryption. Problem is it will not start the actual encryption. I am able to push the drive agent and the drive encryption to the client, but that's it. Usually it will ask to reboot, and will start the encryption and show a percentage progress. It seems to only work with machines that are in the physical offices. Even connecting to our VPN does not start the encryption.

 

Any ideas on how I can activate remote encryption to start? Is it a network block somewhere?

@log6794r Thanks for posting in support community.

Post DE agent and DE for windows packages are deployed, client is able to communicate to ePO successfully then the activation should start. If not, issue with the client system.

Most common issues observed are:

1. Encryption User wasn't assigned successfully

2. Incompatible product identified

3. ePO agent handler failed to process events.

You can follow these steps to identify the cause:

4. Deploy DEGO to the client system then check the status of the system in ePO Dashboard.

5. When the affected system is reachable over network, access C:\Program Files\McAfee\Endpoint Encryption Agent\MfeEpe.log and take a look.
