File and removable media protection - Copy file USB to local drive
I enabled enforce encryption (Onsite office) on removable storage with System Key assigned to computers. There is no problem on encrypt files on USB device. However, when I was trying to copy file from USB to my local disk, the files remain encrypted. Anything I need to configured to let in auto decrypt after copy? I tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10. Thanks!
Kindly note that there is no auto-decrypt feature when you move the frp encrypted file from your USB to your local disk.
However you can assign the same FRP key to your local machine where you are copying this file to. Once you have the FRP key assigned to this local machine, you would be able to access those files which are encrypted from the USB.
However the files remain encrypted for security purposes. If you want to decrypt the files when copied to your local disk you can perform decryption manually on those files or you can use location based protection policy to mention any location and assign a decrypt policy in here.
So if you choose Desktop and select the action as Decrypt, FRP will decrypt the FRP encrypted files in the Desktop by using the FRP key which are assigned to this machine.
