Is there an option to Encrypt an external hard drive with data on it to encrypt the whole drive. including your current data ?
I just tried it and I had hundred GB of Data and got an error that not enough free space available/
Is it looking at my current system hard drive or the external drive?
Some people say the computer's hard drive free space and other say the external drive free space.
But the bottom line, is if there was enough space available, McAfee would have copied my files to this Free space area, encrypt the whole hard drive and then copy back those files to the external drive which would be all encrypted.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes. If you choose to initialize encryption on the drive, and also choose to keep your existing data, it would be looking to move your data to the local system's drive while the USB device is initialized and then would be looking to move it back to the encrypted device. It is looking at the space available on the local system.
