Error occured while installed EEPC

Jump to solution

I have a few devices that are getting this error when trying to install Drive Encryption for Windows portion of the DE suite. I've also tried to install the packages manually; the DE Agent installs first fine, but the EEPC fails. Additionally, I've also try to uninstall all McAfee products and reinstall from scratch, but it fails in the same spot. I am unable to find an error log that contains information on why it's failing.

-W10 devices using DE 7.2.10.56

Re: Error occured while installed EEPC

Error ended up being from a single file named "Endpoint Encryption" located in Program Files\McAfee that would block EEPC from installing. Uninstalling EEPC and the EEADMIN agent did not clear that file. It was found by doing individual manual installs of EEPC and EEADMIN. When we tried installing EEPC, it would error out saying the a "folder" named Endpoint Encryption was already there. The installer thought the single file with the same name as the folder it was trying to create was there already and couldn't continue.

After deleting the lone file, the install and encryption went fine.
