Re: Drive Encryption Recovery error

Hi @Sohel ,

Thank you for posting in here.

Its because of the EETech tool in the winpe which you are using is not good.

https://community.mcafee.com/t5/Encryption-ePO-Managed/EEPC-6-1-2-Error-EE040001-Trying-to-Remove-EE...

Can you build the winPE bootable media as per the below youtube video and try to boot the machine using the thumb drive and check?

And also i could see that you have not authenticated the EETech with the XML key and it shows as Not Authenticated.

thank you

Re: Drive Encryption Recovery error

I created DTeach based on below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSM_b2yHWk4&t=985s

I'm getting error when I import the xml file to authenticate, I even tried token and same error.

Do you have any idea where I can get Jay Appell's 'EZPE' tool? I see McAfee have it but not the latest.

Hi @Sohel ,

https://youtu.be/cL0-wv2cjuQ

These two videos also help you create the same WinPE media as in EZPE, and also supports MDE 7.2.9.17 version and lower and supports win 10 2004 and below.

Re: Drive Encryption Recovery error

Hello Jithendran,

I used your tool and received the same exact error which was attached to my original posting.

I noticed getting an error when I clicked on step #4 (Build WinPE with DETech), however, the process would still complete. I'm attaching the error here.....

one more - my path variable is pointing to "Local\Print~1" - not sure why if this has anything to do with the issue?

Re: Drive Encryption Recovery error

I was able to fix the error by disabling the 'printer spooler' service, afterwards process worked smoothly and I was able to recover the data, thank you so much.
