Creating Subtrees in ePO to manage Decrytion of drives and then removal of Drive Encrytion

We were trying to create an easy way to allow support staff to decryt drives and then remove the product, but creating subtrees to do this did not work. Any suggestions on how to go about this?

Re: Creating Subtrees in ePO to manage Decrytion of drives and then removal of Drive Encrytion

This method should typically be able to work assuming that the branch created in the system tree has a policy assigned that both sets MDE to decrypt and then deactivate and then has a task that would complete the software removal.  Usually most configure a scheduled task that will run at intervals since it is probable that the first time it is run the system will still be in the process of decryption and will not be successful.

With all of that in mind, can you tell us what did and did not work when you tested your process?

Actually I created a folder for decrytption and a separate one for software removal, but they do not seem to work.

Can you provide more details about which aspects did not work?  If it is the decryption and deactivation part of the process, we'd need to start with a look at the policy that is being used for this.
