Certificate Expired

Good morning. We are in the process of changing user certificates on our smart cards. We understand, from KB79665, that a reset token recovery needs to be used in conjunctions with an LDAP synchronization. We run the synch task eight times a day. Typically, it isn't that much of an issue. The new certificates are issues through an on-prem CA that we stood up a few weeks ago. We're now seeing an issue with this error: “Error EE0P0010 User certification has expired.” The reset token recovery is not working to resolve this issue. The LDAP tasks are not failing. I can use the same smart card to log into Windows so I know the certificate is valid. Please advise. Thanks.
