Can you use DETech tool to mount an image that has a volume that needs to be decrypted?

Jump to solution

I need to decrypt a raw image that was created using FTK Imager. Within the stand-alone DETech tool, I can load up the Code of the Day and the xml file with the decryption keys, but the problem I'm having is that it doesn't appear the tool can navigate to a raw image file. Do I need to create a clone and not an image of the source drive? On a side note, if I install the tool on WinPE, will that allow me to use an image file? Thanks

No DETech can't mount images, but you can use your image (preferably copy of it) as a source for virtual disk in prefered virtualization software.

Of course there is always option to copy/write that image back to any disk with apropriate size.
