I would like to know if there is still a possible method of uninstalling safeboot on a laptop actually i have been having problems with these 2 laptops,
i also have an access on the safeboot server as an admin, i believe these laptops have not been in-sync with the safeboot server for a very long time.
i tried to select the "remove" option from the server to uninstall it but the error says "no 32-bit disk detected" and the other is "attribute is not available"
i guess my last resort would be to reformat those laptops and delete their accounts from the server, and try to enroll their accounts again and create
a new instalaltion set.
before the laptops here in our company have all benn "partially encrypted" that is before i got here,
and when i was allowed to manage the server they have enforced a new policy of changing the partial to "full encryption" for now.
i have been able to successfully change the settings for those laptops that have been regularly receiving the new policy updates that are enforced thru the server.
your comments and suggestions are all welcome.
You are using version 4.2.
Do you have SafeBoot pre-boot logon screen?
Is hard drive fully encrypted? Can you get screenshot from SafeBoot Show Status window?
You may be able to uninstall not activated SafeBoot if you go to command prompt, change to SafeBoot client directory and type:
Yes i have tried that also the "go to command prompt, change to SafeBoot client directory and type:
but it says it could not uninstall safeboot.
I am attaching the screenshot for the "show status" of the laptop.
By the way what do you mean a pre-boot log on screen?
Safeboot appears after i turned on the laptop.....the status of the hard drive is "none" with the encryption.
I have already made a sweep for the laptops here in the company that the encryption before used to be a "partial" only.
But amidst of the other laptops that i have changed the policy...i have been having problems with this error.
You need to decrypt the machine before issue SBSetup.exe -uninstall
Your client mess up can't read the sbfsso no drive info shown on client...
try rerun the package..
I had issue like this the only solution is decrypt and remove using Wintech/Safetech
is it still possible to decrypt the hard drive eventhough the status of the encryption is "none"?
also if the "Wintech/Safetech" requires a CD...i don't have it with me....my boss told me that they have lost it a long long time ago
is there a link where i can download this? or do you have an installer for that?
pardon me if i was not able toproduce any installer coming from the company
just create a bootable SafeTech floppy from within SBadmin, export the recovery file group to it, then use SafeTech to do a standard VFD/KFT removal.
