how to recover the data once sdb file is overwritten

Hello All,

My laptop crashed and I rebuild it. But during the rebuild process, It created new sdb file for Enpoint Encryption. I thought my company IT department would have backup of the sdb file, which they dont have. Now, I lost of all my data on that hard drive, so can anyone tell me how I can recover it?

Thanks

~ Keyur

Can a mod move this to the Biz/Endpoint Encryption group please?

How do you mean "rebuild" - do you mean you formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows?

regardless though, without the SDB file it's impossible to recover the data. The good news though is by default, the SDB files your IT department have are not overwritten during a new install - it will add another one to their database, so they might indeed have the old record still.

Only your IT department can help you here - there's nothing you can do on your own.

There are two groups in Business for Endpoint Encryption 4.0 but they're both marked Private Group, so I have no access. I've moved this into Business / Endpoint Security for now. If it needs moving again one of the Business Moderators can do that move.
