Jump to solution

Can you upgrade an XP client to Windows7, while EEPC is installed?

Looking at upgrading, keeping hardlinks? With USMT?

Thank you. Wrong forum? There are times I find this forum software less than intuitive when it comes to posting!

this is a group - for tech questions, use the community from the menu on the left.

I'm not really sure what groups are for ;-)

Hi All

We do have a document that covers this. I am adding it just in case someone finds this topic at a later date by search.

KB60832 - Upgrading a Windows operating system with Endpoint Encryption for PC installed

http://kb.mcafee.com/agent/index?page=content&id=KB60832

The interesting bit for all is this:

Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 7

McAfee has worked with Microsoft to include a step to check for the Endpoint Encryption during an Upgrade to Windows 7. If the Windows 7 installer detects Endpoint Encryption on the system, the installation will stop and display a message that the upgrade cannot continue while Endpoint Encryption is installed. The notification will direct the user to this Knowledge Base article.

All the best.
