New to Endpoint Encryption, Today a co worker tried to perform and emergency boot and using the code we can get authenticated which is green but authorized is red and obviously unable to continue. I was unable to locate information on this. Please Help out
Glad someone brought this up. What's the reason for the emergency boot not being part of Wintec? It's really frustrating when you have to wait a LONG time to carry out a process that would be so much quicker in Wintec.
Support using Safetec is pretty useless when you have a techie in another country wanting you to give them a recovery disk that's on a floppy! Using Wintec I can simply send him the .iso but then I lose the emergency boot option.
Technically it's not possible to install the right low level driver and boot the machine - SafeTech does an emergency boot by installing an int13 hook and calling the MBR to start the machine, pretty hard to do with Windows in the way.
Got this resolved, for some reason got unknown user when using safetech and using SBFS, then when I tried rebooting normally Endpoint screen froze at loading. I was able to use the sdb file to authenticate and reinstall Endpoint. Only issue is way is there no progress bar or some kind of message... hate that it look like its not doing anything and it .... but thanks all happy I am starting to get the hang of this. I under stand it would be hard using WinTech but anyway it can be made just as quick or some kind of variation.
