I have a few laptops that I need the complete procedures to uninstall Safeboot including the decryption process. I have all the local Safeboot passwords, but the Admin server no longer exists. Can anyone assist? We are currently evaluating Mcafee's replacement device encryption solution, but until then I need to remove this legacy product.
I have followed several discussion threads in this community, but with little results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
You will need to use either safetech or wintech and do a removal - the instructions are in the safetech administrators guide page 11 , which you can get from https://kc.mcafee.com/resources/sites/MCAFEE/content/live/PRODUCT_DOCUMENTATION/22000/PD22214/en_US/...
get wintech ad create bootcd..
- boot wintech cd
- authenticate with code of the day
- authorized from SBFS (i asume everything still intact)
- Wintech | remove EEPC
Thanks for the quick response. I am looking over the documentation now. Just have a few more questions.
Where do I find the source for the wintech boot cd?
Is it on the workstation somewhere? Remember the server no longer exists.
Is SBFS the safeboot file server.? That device has been decommissioned.
Thanks for all the assistance. I am coming late into this to assist a client with no documentation. I do have local SafeBoot workstation passswords.
You'll need to download it using your grant number from mcafee.com then create your own cd using windows aik, or bartpe etc
Sbfs is the SafeBoot files system. It's where the preboot code lives on your machines
