The problem is when we Install eepc, Reboot, then we check eepc status, it is hung on between Creating new machine database entry & Checking for user updates, it generally pauses at this moment for 20+ minutes.....
if i copy the database off onto a vmmachine, create a new install set etc... the problem disappears.
Server is Windows 2003 sp2
i have followed all points in the best practice guide. It hasn't made a difference. One point regarding this though, after MFT change does the server require a defrag?
it's every model i try
no anti virus on the server
tried with a client without av
been looking at this a while, it was set to refresh once a day in the ini. But i have change that to 0 and set a scheduled task to re-index at 1 in the morning. So this morning was its last re-index
Can you post "SbClientLog.txt"? How many users do you assign to machine?
How long does it take if you create machine object manually (or via SBADMCL script)?
It seems that there is a substantial number of users assigned to that machine. Did you have that many users assigned to machine when you performed the same test on a duplicated EEM server? Whas the same client PC involved in that test? What is network connection between original client and original server, versus new test client and new test server?
my real server hasn't got anti-virus on it. My test environment was two xp virtual machines running on my workstation , once acting as a server the other a client. The database was an exact copy from the live environment and i recreated the same install set. So same files, group size, users assigned etc......
Do you think i need to reinstall endpoint? maybe something in the install is corrupt? The same has been upgrade several times over the years......
