My hard drive was encrupted using Safeboot and my XP crashed to the blue screen of death with 0 luck using safemode. The wintech cd is also going to the blue screen but it is reaching and moving past safeboot so my HD is good at least the utilities say its good and working. My question is since I can't boot that machine at all can I remove the harddrive, place it in a portable harddrive enclosure and decrypt it using another machine? What are the steps to do that?
Do you have SafeBoot or EEPC? Which version?
You will find product documentation on McAfee web site.
Also numerous KB articles describe WinTech recovery procedures:
Get with support. I was having that issue with my old wintech CD. I called support and they gave me the wintech iso that is compatible for windows 7. This eliminated all BSODs I was seeing with the wintech CD. If you have a FTP share somewhere I can upload it to you also.
I can't see the site to download WinTech, just BartPE stuff. BartPE is free, WinTech is copyrighted.
Yes, support gave you link to download ISO, but it is for you only and you should not pass it around.
