I have EE installed on my PC and will need a 6-word password while I power on, I believe the hard disk is been encryped. Last day I can't login to my system. I use WinPE and found all my patitions are in "raw" mode. I searched google and it says I need to restore MBR. So I restored the MBR but it still doesn't help. I found someone to help me and he said my PC is encrpyed with EEPC and can't be restored.
Is there any way I can recover my data on the hard disk?!!!!
Thank you so much!!!
as you have restored MBR, now you will need .SDB file from Safeboot serverMessage was edited by: rbdudani on 7/31/13 11:08:04 AM CDT
Since you have cleared the MBR, the only way to recover the data now is with the assistance of your corporate IT team who have the recovery information for your machine.
It's not possible to recovery it yourself if you are an eepc user.
The partitions were RAW because they were encrypted - you could have called your IT team and got your password reset over the phone. Now the disk will need to be decrypted.
I called IT team but they said they have no idea on the data recovery. Is there any way that I can recover it myself?
Thanks man, now I got the key.
And I'm trying to create a winPE to recover my disk, I followed "eepc_620_eetech_user_guide_en-us" to create the ISO, but after I boot the system, it appears following error:
Info:Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing, or corrupt.
I follow the guild and should have put it into the directory, what can be the cause?
Thanks in advance!
Could be any of a number of things - wrong architecture version of the file, missing, path wrong etc.
Best to revisit the build and make sure everything is exactly as the documentation. What version of WinPE are you using, and what OS are you creating it under?
Oh, and what version of eepc do you have on your machine? You posted in the eepc5 forum, but you are using eetech from eepc6 - the two are not compatible.
Okay, I'm using EEPC v6, my OS is win 7 pro 32bit.
Last time I made a mistake that I copied the 64bit file "MfeEEAlg.sys" into PE so I can't start WinPE, now I can login the PE system. But here comes another question, after I start EETech, I can't see any word, just a console, also I get following error when I try to enter userid and password:
Endpoint Encrption disk information not present.
How can I fix this? Thank you.
Can you post a screen shot? Once you are booted into the WinPE environment, you need to start the eetech executable.
You will need to work with your it team to get an access code, and they need to walk you through the recovery process.
