Problems with Sfaboot and Dell Mini 10

After setting up our safeboot on the Dell Mini 10, we simply get a line of code stating starting Safeboot 5.1 then stalls. The laptops are running WD 160GB drives in a single partition with WinXP Pro

I don't believe that platform works with EEPC at the moment. Sorry.

Have there been any solutions found?  I noticed that the last posts were a while back.

Tech support just verified that it is still a known issue, but supposedly to be resolved in v5.2.4 due out in the next few months.  Reference KB68005.

Thats hilarious, because technical support told me, on the same day, that 5.2.4 will not be released.  He told me that we had to upgrade to EEPC 6.0.

I am hold right now trying to get some more information on this issue and what netbooks EEPC has been confirmed to work on so we don't have wipe a computer for the second time getting it to work.

If there's any doubt, just install without encryption. If it works, then it's safe to encrypt it. If not, you can just fixmbr the machine (or use the appropriate MBR fix for your OS).

We don't get to see every model of device manufacturers make, and the product is designed to work on any i86 hardware - people only tell us about the ones which don't work.

Intel Atom is x86.

i,x, makes no difference.

The problem here is not with the processor, it's with the BIOS code.

The problem is with EEPC that it cannot work properly with this and some other BIOS-es.

you are right. We've not found a way of coding around their deficiencies yet.  😉
