Pre Boot OS doesn't activate caps lock LED

I've had reports that on the Dell D505 when the user is in the pre boot os using caps lock doesn't activate the LED

is this something anyone knows how to fix or has come across?

this is quite an old laptop but we will have a fair few of these and this is confusing the users when entering their password

cheers

We found the same issue with laptops in docking stations with a certain model of USB keyboard attached to the docking station.  Our fix was simple:  replace the keyboards with a brand we knew worked.  Fortunately it was only a dozen or so.  Doesn't sound like you're quite so lucky.  You try Dell BIOS update?

ok thanks for the info but these are just standalone laptops, I'll look into a bios update

We experienced this with EEPC 5.1.3 and I believe 5.1.6 as well.

Honestly, I never noticed to check it with EEPC 5.2.3
