NameIndex of dbcfg.ini.

Hi,

I have a question "LifeTime" parameter of dbcfg.ini.

Following KB says LifeTime means "The time (in seconds) for which the index will be used before it is automatically re-created if somebody logs on to the database."

McAfee KnowledgeBase - Recommendations for ways to improve Endpoint Encryption Manager 5.x database ...

Could anyone let me know what is the benefit of re-creating all index files by using LifeTime parameter?

Is it a problem that we will set LifeTime zero?

Thanks,

Re: NameIndex of dbcfg.ini.

If due to some misadventure the index gets out of sync with the db, if there is no lifetime, the error will never be corrected. You should recreate the index every day or so - use something like ToastCache for EEPC/EEM v5 | Simon Says - Musings of a Mid-Tier CTO to force it to rebuild at your convenience.

Re: NameIndex of dbcfg.ini.

I understand the need of re-creating index file thanks to you.

And more question.

Are index files useful for the performance of client machine sync processing to EEM server?
