Is it possible to identify clients which have safeboot or mcafee encryption installed remotely using standard audting software
I want them to show up in our network auditing reports. I'm aware the EEM can produce reports of installations, but our agentless audting sofware (lansweeper) picks up PCs which aren't in the AD domains/dont have an agent installed or are misbehaving for other reasons.
I'm guessing some sort of WMI call may work or changing the config of the agent to log a "I am running" statement to the windows event log?
I'm basically wanting to verify ALL laptops are encrypted (not just the ones we have seen through EEM) and this would allow me to do this
All help appreciated
The API has a specific call for this - getcryptstate. It will tell you if eepc is running, and if so, the crypt state of the drives etc.
It's documented in the sbadmcl scripting guide for your version.
