Ghost machine objects

I have an empty controlled machine group showing a (2) next to the group name. Before I noticed the issue there were 54 machines and I deleted all but 3 and moved the last 3 to another group. One thing I'm not sure of is whether there were really 54 machines or whether it was 52 and the problem already existed. On a group scan no orphaned objects are found. If I do a force sync on the group I get the following in the admin console:

Error contacting "" at
0xdb010010 : "Object not found"
Error contacting "" at
0xdb010010 : "Object not found"
Finished

Within the database folder for the group there are 15 DAT files and a OBJLOCK.FDB file. The FDB and one DAT are from yesterday, all others are over 2 months old.

Does anyone know what this is? Can I delete the machine group without causing more issues?

RE: Ghost machine objects

I would perhaps restart the service and see what happens. also maybe running a scan for orphaned objects may find something.

RE: Ghost machine objects

just use the api command "cleanupmachinegroup" to do that.

RE: Ghost machine objects

Thanks SafeBoot, worked like a charm. That command was documented for use on version 4.x and we're on 5.1.3, I'm a little concerned that it was needed.

RE: Ghost machine objects

should be documented in the v5 guide as well.

it's equally vaild - I guess something just crashed while doing the group update, maybe a network outage etc.
